Last week, we began August with a simple question:
✨ Who are you?
As we explored what it means to live more authentically, we talked about recognizing the things that make us feel most like ourselves.
This week, we're taking that reflection one step further.
Because sometimes, one of the best ways to understand who we are today...
is to look back at where we've been.
🌿 The Beauty of Looking Back
There is something interesting about looking back.
When we're living through a season of change or growth, we don't always recognize what's happening in the moment.
We're simply living it.
Taking the next step.
Making the next decision.
Learning as we go.
And then one day, we look back and realize...
I've grown.
Maybe you handled something differently than you would have a year ago.
Maybe something that once felt overwhelming feels a little easier now.
Maybe you've become clearer about what matters to you.
Maybe you've learned to trust yourself a little more.
Growth doesn't always arrive with a big announcement.
Sometimes it's so quiet that we only recognize it when we pause long enough to look back.

🌊 Nature Leaves Clues Too
Nature is always carrying reminders of where it's been.
A tree adds another ring each year.
A shell becomes smoother as the ocean carries it through the waves.
A shoreline changes little by little with every tide.
Each season leaves something behind.
And so do ours.
Every experience we've had has contributed something to the person we are today.
Wisdom.
Strength.
Perspective.
Compassion.
Clarity.
Maybe even a better understanding of what we truly want from our lives.
Looking back gives us an opportunity to recognize those things.
Not simply to remember what happened...
but to appreciate what grew from it.

🌿 Notice the Quiet Growth
We often celebrate the milestones that are easy to see.
A new job.
A new home.
A graduation.
A relationship.
A goal reached.
But some of our most meaningful growth happens quietly.
Choosing peace where you once would have reacted.
Creating a boundary that supports your well-being.
Making more time for yourself.
Listening to your intuition.
Finding joy in something simple.
Allowing yourself to rest.
Speaking to yourself with more kindness.
These moments may never make it onto a list of accomplishments.
But they matter.
Because personal growth isn't only about what we've achieved.
It's also about the ways we've changed along the way.
💎 Crystal Wisdom
Crystals can be beautiful companions when we take time to reflect because they help us create an intentional space to pause, connect, and recognize our journey.
These three crystals support reflection, perspective, and appreciation for how far we've come:
Moonstone – Encourages reflection, intuition, and trust in the natural cycles and transitions of life.
Amethyst – Supports inner awareness, clarity, and peaceful reflection as we consider the lessons we've gathered along the way.
Rose Quartz – Encourages compassion, gentleness, and appreciation for ourselves and the journey that has brought us here.
Together, these crystals invite us to look back with awareness, kindness, and gratitude for the person we've become.
As always, please use crystals that call to you.

🌙 A Simple Practice for Looking Back
Find a comfortable place where you can spend a few quiet moments with your Moonstone, Amethyst, and Rose Quartz.
Place the three crystals in front of you.
Begin by holding your Moonstone.
Think about where you were at the beginning of this year.
What were you hoping for?
What were you learning?
What was beginning to shift?
Next, hold your Amethyst.
Think about the experiences you've had since then.
What have they taught you?
What do you understand more clearly today?
Now hold your Rose Quartz near your heart.
Think about the person who has walked through all of those experiences.
Recognize the strength, courage, love, and growth you've carried with you.
Finally, bring all three crystals together.
Take a slow breath and ask yourself:
✨ What am I proud of myself for?
Allow whatever comes forward to have its moment.
You may want to write your reflections in your journal so you can return to them later.
Sometimes seeing our growth written down helps us recognize just how much has changed.

✨ A Note From Me
I think sometimes we're so focused on where we're going that we forget to appreciate how far we've already come.
Life keeps moving.
There's always another goal, another responsibility, another thing waiting for our attention.
That's why I believe reflection is so important.
Every once in a while, we deserve to turn around and look at the path behind us.
To recognize the lessons.
To celebrate the growth.
To appreciate the moments that shaped us.
And maybe even to thank the earlier versions of ourselves who kept moving forward, one step at a time.
Wherever you are in your journey today, I hope you'll give yourself a few moments this week to recognize something you may not say often enough:
Look how far I've come.
