Desert Rose is a naturally formed crystal rosette known for its soft, layered appearance and sandy desert coloring. The Stone

Desert Rose is most commonly a formation of gypsum crystals that develop in dry, sandy environments. As the crystals grow, grains of sand become incorporated into their structure, creating the distinctive petal-like formations that resemble a rose.

Although most Desert Rose specimens are gypsum, similar rosette formations can also occur in barite.

Desert Rose is sometimes referred to as Desert Rose Selenite, although its sandy inclusions and formation distinguish it visually from the clearer forms of selenite many people are familiar with.
